September promises about 700 free events, as the summer concerts wind down & the schools are just starting up. Still, there's plenty to do: festivals, tours, talks, readings, walks, plays, jams, films, & art openings. Among the interesting people you can meet are Laurence Tribe, Tig Notaro, & Dolores Huerta. September brings Labor Day, Admissions Day, Patriot Day, & the Autumn Equinox, as well as the Jewish High Holidays. It’s Latin Heritage Month, with multiple Mexican Independence celebrations & parades around town.
