SWFL Charitable Benefit: Party with A Purpose 4

Party With A Purpose 4 is an inaugural charitable gala hosted by Daniel and Barbara Melvin of Naples, Florida. This prestigious event will be taking place o Friday, October 6, 2017 at Hilton Naples. Proceeds from this event will go to Dress 4 Success Southwest Florida, the young leaders of ACT-SO program by NAACP Connect and Hurricane Irma Relief Efforts. In addition, the couple will be celebrating their birthdays and 27 year anniversary. 

Daniel Melvin is known as "The Most Romantic Voice of Southwest Florida." He is a legendary singer from Motown who proclaimed his influence and training from legends such as Smokey Robinson and  The Temptations. Daniel shares his gift of song to various charities throughout Southwest Florida. Barbara Melvin is the Vice President of First Florida Integrity Bank and Former President of Dress For Success SWFL. She is also an affluent community leader who coordinates various charitable events around Southwest Florida.

It is extremely saddening when you look into the core of these battles only to find hate and fear.   Yesterday, the bodybuilding community went into an internet frenzy regarding actor, bodybuilder, author and entrepreneur Kali Muscle for being “exposed” for Gay for Pay .   Gay for pay turned into Kali being actually gay according to what I saw. I began to read messages, blog posts and watch the videos that made statements such as people calling him a “butt pirate” or saying”Kali is gay. He is a disgrace to the bodybuilding world.” Oh and let’s not forget enormous amount of “F” bombs that were stamped all across the internet. Homophobic….. Poem: "The Mask I Wear"

I am in the process of this journey of fully coming into who I am inside and out! I was taking a life design course and my world renowned coach, Dr. Ray Blanchard read this poem below. I have always thought I was my true authentic self, however, after hearing this poem and then reading it several times, I have come to realize that I have neglected ME in the process of being a giver and a nurturer to others. So I am removing the mask and seeing and loving me. Growing and learning in the process. Hope you remove yours as well. I would love to see YOU!!! I am the other you. You are the other me:) THE MASK I WEAR Don't be fooled by me. Don't be fooled by the face I wear   for I wear a mask. I wear a thousand masks-      masks that I'm afraid to take off   and none of them are me. Pretending is an art that's second nature with me But don't be fooled, for God's sake, don't be fooled.
