LEAD is located in the heart of Lincoln Heights. LEAD's mission is to facilitate the creation of community based on social justice campaigns and engage under-served young people in service-learning and action. LEAD will comprise of YouthBuild Charter School, vocational training, supportive services, job readiness/placement, and leadership. You know the saying " face of an angel and voice of a goddess" and when it comes to Maria Cozette , that saying fits her perfectly. Maria is a singer, songwriter, producer, TV personality and she is a "do-gooder" who gives back effortlessly to her community. She has broken records and set high standards for up and coming Armenian artists. Her 3rd album entitled "Light of Day" is set to be released this Thursday, June 26, 2014 with an exclusively private release party that night. Alliance for Women in Media Foundation & The Loreen Arbus Foundation Loreen Arbus Focus on Disability Journalist Scholarship Information & Application Deadline to Apply: March 31, 2014 Since 2009, the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF) has partnered with The Loreen Arbus Foundation to focus on the needs, achievements, contributions and stories of citizens with disabilities. We are pleased to announce the 2014 competition’s theme of My Voice, My Time . Students are invited to submit a creative writing piece of 750 to 1,000 words, focusing on the challenges and triumphs that come with living with a disability along with their goals and outlook for the future.  Applicants will also need to submit a letter of recommendation from a faculty member as part of the submission process. UNIDAD Workforce Development Training Program-Deadline is Jan. 20, 2014

CDTech is seeking  25 South Los Angeles community members  to participate in six weeks of paid training with the  UNIDAD Workforce Development Training Program . This program is specially designed to help South LA residents receive eduction and training to prepare themselves for immediate, entry level employment.    Training begins in February and will be held Monday-Friday from 1:00PM-5:00PM!  Application Deadline is Monday, January 20th at 5:00PM .
